On Wednesday, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, held a meeting with the second deputy to the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Ahmed Hawma. Together they reviewed the health situation of southern Libya.

The Prime Minister called for the establishment of diabetic and dialysis centres in the Al-Qarda Al-Shati area, in addition to resupplying the Al-Qarda village hospital.

Diabetic treatment centres are to be built in the Marzouq basin, as well as digging water wells in the Jabal Al-Hasawna area.

Last week, Al-Thinni met with the Minister of Health, Saad Agoub. They discussed the latest developments regarding the epidemiological situation in the country, and the ministry’s efforts to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

During the meeting, Agoub emphasized his keenness to attract highly qualified medical personnel to provide advanced medical services for patients infected with the virus.
