Report Says Libya Among Most Dangerous Countries to Travel

An interactive map issued by the international relief company “International SOS” on Sunday showed that Libya is among the most dangerous countries to visit for security and health reasons.

According to the latest Travel Risk Map, published annually, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Central African Republic are the top five most dangerous places to visit in 2021.

The interactive map classifies the safety and security of countries taking into account a number of factors, as the potential risks are classified into 3 categories: security risks, medical risks, and the threat of Coronavirus.

The map confirms that Libya is among the worst countries in terms of medical risks, which is understandable given that political violence, unrest, social violence, and crime undoubtedly make it more difficult to provide medical care.

Libya, also ranked among the worst countries in terms of medical risks, is followed by South Sudan, Somalia, Venezuela, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

For the first two categories of the interactive map, countries are given a rating out of five, while road safety is rated out of four based on the mortality rate per 100,000 people.
