The Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia has participated positively in international efforts to solve the Libyan crisis since the start of the armed conflict. She added that Moscow is in communication with all Libyan parties and urges them to end the conflict.

In a press statement, Zakharova said that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) Mohamed Siala, on 30 December in Moscow.

Zakharova pointed out that they will exchange views on the latest developments in Libya, and the efforts being made to strengthen the ceasefire agreement.

She claimed that Washington carried out armed aggression against Libya and has effectively withdrawn for a long time from settling the Libyan crisis that arose out of its mistake.
