Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi’s Lawyer Urges Libyans to Participate in Upcoming Elections

On Tuesday, the lawyer of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, Khaled Al-Zaidi, called on the Libyan people to register at the High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) to participate in the upcoming national elections.

The lawyer of the alleged presidential candidate pointed to the difficult conditions that the country is going through, and the need to save it from the “plans of destruction and division,” and called for stability, development, prosperity and peace.

“The elections of 24 December and their results will determine the parameters and future of Libya in the coming decades,” Al-Zaidi said in a statement.

“It is the first, and may be the last opportunity through which the Libyan people will determine and choose who governs them,” he explained. “There is no place for exclusion and monopolisation of power by the force, that was the cause of the destruction of Libya and made us a country reliant on aid,” he added

He affirmed that the elections will not be effective and productive, unless all segments of Libyan society, especially youths, participate in them.
