On Saturday, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army, Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter, issued a decree assigning Major-General Miftaah Shaglouf as commander of the Central Military Region, and Sirte Operations Room.

Shaglouf is a prominent military strategist, famously known for his role in the LNA’s Oil Crescent operations.

This decision came two weeks after the former commander of the Sirte Operations Room, Major General Salem Deryaag, and his assistant Gaddafi Al-Sadai, were killed by a Turkish drone strike.
