MENA Medical Expo Begins in Benghazi

The MENA Medical Expo, sponsored by the Libyan Ministry of Health, commenced on Tuesday at the Benghazi Exhibition Grounds.

The event saw the attendance of several Libyan officials, including members of the House of Representatives, Minister of Defense Ahmed Huma, Minister of Interior Major General Essam Abu Zariba, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Al-Mahdi Al-Saidi, Minister of Water Resources Mohamed Douma, and Minister of Education Juma Al-Jadeed.

Also in attendance were Minister of Transportation Abdelhakim Al-Ghazzawi, Minister of Communications Salem Al-Drissi, Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Intisar Al-Aboud, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdel Moneim Al-Saidi, as well as several directors from the Ministry of Health, hospital managers, and health center directors in Benghazi.

The event began with a welcome speech by Minister of Defense Ahamed Huma on behalf of the Libyan Prime Minister. In his address, Huma welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health in organizing the expo. He highlighted the ministry’s strategy to enhance healthcare and develop the country’s health system.

Libyan Minister of Health Dr. Othman Abdel Jalil expressed his gratitude to all attendees, ministers, and organizers of the expo, which is being held in Benghazi for the first time. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to implementing its strategy to develop the healthcare sector.

The MENA Medical Expo is a significant event for Benghazi and Libya at large, highlighting the country’s efforts to advance its healthcare sector. Libya’s healthcare system has faced numerous challenges due to years of conflict and instability. The expo represents a crucial step towards rebuilding and enhancing the medical infrastructure, showcasing the latest advancements in medical technology and healthcare services.

The expo provides healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders a platform to exchange ideas, discuss innovations, and collaborate on initiatives to improve healthcare delivery. It aims to attract investment in the healthcare sector, promote public-private partnerships, and introduce cutting-edge medical technologies to Libya.

The Libyan Ministry of Health’s strategy, as reiterated by Dr. Othman Abdel Jalil, focuses on developing the healthcare sector through comprehensive reforms. This includes improving healthcare infrastructure, enhancing the quality of medical services, increasing access to healthcare, and integrating modern technologies into the health system.
