China Pledges Continued Support for Libya’s Stability

The Chinese Ambassador to Libya, Liu Jian, has reaffirmed his country’s ongoing support for efforts to advance the political process and ensure security and stability in Libya.

In a congratulatory message to the Libyan people on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Jian expressed China’s readiness to work together with Libya to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, benefiting both peoples.

Liu Jian highlighted China’s commitment to contributing to Libya’s peace and development. He emphasised the importance of joint efforts to bolster bilateral relations and to support initiatives that promote political progress and stability.

The ambassador’s message reflects China’s strategic interest in fostering strong ties with Libya and its dedication to helping the country navigate its current challenges.

In his message, Liu Jian conveyed his wishes for further progress, prosperity, and well-being for Libya. He underscored the significance of collaboration between China and Libya, aiming for mutual benefits and the advancement of common interests. This gesture of solidarity comes as Libya continues to work towards achieving long-term peace and stability.

Earlier this month, Liu Jian, has announced China’s readiness to resume the embassy’s operations in Tripoli once the security situation improves.

Speaking to the Libyan News Agency, Liu Jian emphasised the historical ties between China and Libya, underscoring China’s support for the Libyan people and institutions in their quest for political and security stability.

Liu Jian reiterated that China is committed to aiding Libya in building a modern state across various fields, free from external interference. He highlighted China’s willingness to exert all efforts towards achieving a sustainable political solution to the Libyan crisis through dialogue and negotiations.

He pointed out that the return of the Chinese Embassy to Tripoli would signify a strengthened bilateral relationship and enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

Liu Jian mentioned that China’s historical relationship with Libya motivates it to contribute positively to Libya’s development and stability.

China aims to facilitate dialogue among Libyan factions and support efforts that lead to a lasting peace agreement. Liu Jian stressed that China would continue to advocate for a negotiated settlement to the Libyan conflict, ensuring that peace and stability are restored.
