The Ministry of Economy of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU) announced the signing of a tripartite cooperation and partnership agreement among the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, the Tunisian Union of Industry and Trade, and the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal.
The agreement was signed by Mohamed Al-Raeid, President of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, alongside his counterparts, Samir Majoul, President of the Tunisian Union of Industry and Trade, and Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Economy, the agreement aims to foster economic cooperation at the private sector level by organizing forums for joint companies and business owners, and by unifying efforts to ensure the smooth flow of goods according to the approved standards and specifications of the three countries.
The agreement also seeks to activate the role of the private sector in investing in free zones and to integrate youth into the targeted joint investment projects by the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
Further goals of the agreement include working with relevant government bodies to reopen trade routes, activate land border crossings, establish maritime lines, and resume air routes between Libya, Algeria, and Tunisia to facilitate trade exchange and business mobility.
