On Wednesday, Parliament-designated Prime Minister Osama Hammad inaugurated several significant service projects in Ajdabiya, marking a major milestone in the city’s infrastructure development.

Prominent figures, including House Speaker Ageela Saleh and Director-General of the Libyan Reconstruction and Development Fund, Belgassim Haftar attended the ceremony.

The newly launched projects encompass the administrative headquarters of the Academy of Graduate Studies, the Public Properties Authority building, and the Ajdabiya Clinic Complex. These developments represent a substantial enhancement of the city’s public services and infrastructure.

Prime Minister Hammad expressed his gratitude to the House of Representatives, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and the Director-General of the Libyan Reconstruction and Development Fund for their efforts in implementing numerous developmental projects in Ajdabiya and other Libyan cities.

Hammad highlighted that the government, in collaboration with the House of Representatives and the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), formulated a comprehensive development plan following the war on terrorism. This plan has been systematically executed through various reconstruction funds, committees, and specialized ministries.

“We have made significant progress in numerous projects across most cities, allocating the necessary budgets to turn our ambitions into reality while ensuring that time efficiency does not compromise execution quality,” Hammad stated.

The Prime Minister noted that reconstruction efforts had reached the southernmost cities, encompassing sectors such as roads, bridges, electricity, water, healthcare, and education. “We are steadfastly advancing on the path of reconstruction and realizing sustainable plans,” he added.

He emphasized the ongoing efforts of the Reconstruction and Stability Committee and the Derna Reconstruction Fund, along with other affected cities, in executing development plans across the eastern, central, southern, and some western regions of Libya. He stressed the importance of unified efforts, which led to the establishment of the Libyan Reconstruction Fund, integrating most executive bodies and tools to operate in harmony with the developmental plans.

Highlighting the rapid pace of work in rebuilding Derna, Hammad acknowledged the formidable challenges faced in Ajdabiya in terms of development and reconstruction. “However, the determination of our citizens has been the primary driver in achieving the best possible outcomes,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister also underscored the collective effort that contributed to the successful completion of these developmental projects. He praised the vital role of the “166 Brigade” in ensuring security and stability, creating a conducive environment for project execution in Ajdabiya. Additionally, he commended the residents of Ajdabiya for their support and cooperation in enhancing service delivery.

Ajdabiya, a key city in northeastern Libya, has witnessed significant development efforts aimed at improving its infrastructure and public services. The city holds strategic importance due to its location and historical significance. In recent years, Ajdabiya has been at the center of various developmental projects initiated by the Libyan government to rebuild and enhance the quality of life for its residents.

The reconstruction efforts in Ajdabiya are part of a broader national strategy to revitalize Libya’s infrastructure, heavily damaged by years of conflict.
