French Embassy Welcomes Lifting Of Oil Blockade In Libya

In a statement on Friday, the French Embassy in Libya welcomed the announcement by the National Oil Company (NOC) on the lifting of the oil blockade.

“The French Embassy in Libya wishes to congratulate all the Libyan parties that have facilitated this progress”, the Embassy stated.

It rejected the militarization of oil facilities, stressing the importance of maintaining the neutrality of the NOC and the safety of all its staff.

The NOC said the blockade on oil exports had ended on Friday. The output from the oil-rich nation, however, will be slow to recover. This is due to a number of technical issues at oil fields, pipelines, and terminals, the state company said.
