Kremlin Says Russia Is Not Involved In Any Military Operations In Libya

On Thursday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian military was not involved in any military operations in Libya.

“The Russian military is not taking part in any processes in Libya” Peskov said, adding that “we are unaware of any organized Russian nationals taking part in them”.

Russia is one of the countries that has reportedly been involved in the Libyan conflict by sending weapons and fighters in support of the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. Moscow strongly denies this claim.

The Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) has been receiving support from Turkey, including arms and mercenaries, in its fight against the LNA.
