The Chairman of the Management Committee at Zawiya Oil Refinery Company has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art lubricants blending and packaging plant in Benghazi. The announcement was made during a ceremony commemorating the company’s 50th anniversary, held yesterday at the Benghazi Asphalt Plant.

The upcoming facility will have a production capacity of 100 million litres annually, producing a variety of advanced oils to meet diverse market demands. The chairman emphasised the importance of the project, highlighting its role in enhancing the company’s contribution to Libya’s industrial growth.

He also praised the performance of the Benghazi Asphalt Plant, which has successfully met the region’s demand for asphalt and supported reconstruction and infrastructure projects. He described the plant as an integral part of Zawiya Oil Refinery Company, noting that every worker at the plant is a vital pillar of the company’s continued success.

The new project aligns with Libya’s broader goals of revamping its oil sector and bolstering local production capacities. It is expected to create job opportunities and support various industries across the country.

The National Oil Corporation has lauded this initiative as a significant step forward for Libya’s oil sector and a boost for the local economy.
