Libya’s Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Hwaij, met with the Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council, Ambassador Mohamady Al-Nai, to discuss plans for a reconstruction conference aimed at outlining a comprehensive strategy to attract investors and maximise the benefits of Libya’s investment law.

The meeting, held on Monday at the ministry’s headquarters, was also attended by Mokhtar Al-Qala’i, Chairman of the Libyan-Egyptian Business Owners Council. Discussions focused on the 2025 work plan for Libya within the framework of the Arab Economic Unity Council, according to a statement published on the ministry’s official Facebook page.

The council is one of the key institutions promoting Arab economic cooperation, trade exchange, and investment opportunities among Arab nations.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to organise specialised exhibitions to attract business leaders, companies, factories, and investors. These exhibitions will showcase Libyan products and industries, support Libyan exports, and facilitate access to new markets regionally and internationally. The initiative will be carried out in collaboration with the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences.
