In a devastating turn of events, a bus accident on the desert road linking Benghazi to Kufra in southern Libya has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a young child and a Sudanese woman. The incident, which involved the vehicle overturning, was confirmed by Ismail Al-Ayedah, the head of the Emergency Department at the Ministry of Health in Benghazi.

The accident not only claimed lives but also left six other passengers with varying degrees of injuries, some of which are critical. The injured are currently receiving medical attention at Kufra Hospital, as the local healthcare providers strive to manage the aftermath of this horrific event.

This tragic accident is part of a growing trend of vehicular incidents on Libya’s desert roads, underscoring an urgent need for improved road safety measures and infrastructure enhancements to curb the rising tide of road-related fatalities.
