Libya and Saudi Arabia have taken steps to enhance energy cooperation, focusing particularly on gas development and technical training. Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul Sadek, met with Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, on the sidelines of the 9th International OPEC Seminar.
The meeting explored opportunities for joint ventures in Libya’s gas sector, with the Libyan side expressing interest in benefiting from the expertise of Saudi Arabia’s energy giant, Aramco. Libya is seeking to boost its gas production capabilities and optimise its natural resource management. The ministers discussed how Saudi technical experience could support Libya’s efforts to modernise and expand its gas infrastructure.
In addition to energy cooperation, the two ministers reviewed plans for a renewed joint vocational training programme. The initiative aims to build qualified national workforces in both countries.
