Libya Discusses Accounting Education & Reform

The Audit Bureau’s Research and Studies Center organized a workshop titled “Regulating and Developing the Auditing Profession in Libya: Current Reality and Future Prospects” on the sidelines of celebrations marking the Bureau’s 70th anniversary.

According to an official statement, the workshop explored the Audit Bureau’s role in strengthening the profession and addressed the challenges facing the implementation of Law No. 116 of 1973, which governs accounting and auditing practices in Libya.

Discussions also highlighted the state of accounting education in Libya and its impact on improving the quality and professionalism of auditing services.

The workshop concluded with a series of recommendations and proposals aimed at supporting the auditing profession, enhancing its standards, and aligning it with global developments, thereby serving Libya’s institutional development goals.
