Libya’s Minister of Public Works, Nasser Al-Abidi, held a meeting on Wednesday with a delegation from Turkish construction firm KENT GRUP to explore avenues for cooperation in infrastructure and reconstruction projects across the country.
The visiting delegation presented an overview of the company’s extensive experience in executing large-scale infrastructure developments, including airports, wastewater treatment plants, drinking water systems, and residential and commercial complexes. The group expressed strong interest in contributing to Libya’s post-conflict rebuilding phase.
According to a statement by the ministry, KENT GRUP plans to establish a formal branch in Libya in the near future. The move is intended to enable the company to participate directly in public projects and work in partnership with Libyan government entities in key sectors such as urban development, water management, and housing.
Minister Al-Abidi welcomed the initiative and expressed the ministry’s openness to reviewing proposals that align with Libya’s infrastructure priorities. He emphasized the need for projects that offer both technical quality and real benefit to local communities.
He also emphasized the importance of adhering to Libyan legal and regulatory frameworks, noting that transparency, compliance, and efficiency are crucial for establishing sustainable partnerships with foreign companies.
