The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency in Libya announced that its Al-Marj branch deported 28 irregular Egyptian migrants during October 2025 through the Umm Saad land border crossing.

According to the agency’s statement, eight migrants were deported on October 12, another eight on October 18, and twelve more on October 22.

Part of Libya’s Efforts to Combat Irregular Migration

The agency confirmed that the deportations come as part of Libya’s ongoing efforts to curb irregular migration and maintain national security and stability. It emphasized that such operations are carried out regularly in coordination with other law-enforcement and border-control bodies.

Legal Procedures and Compliance

The Security Media Office of the agency added that all detention, screening, and deportation procedures are conducted in accordance with Libyan laws and regulations governing migration control. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the process respects legal standards and humanitarian considerations.

The deportations reflect Libya’s continued enforcement of migration laws amid increased regional migration movements across its eastern borders.
