Libya delivered a standout performance at the Arab Nations Unified Karate Championship, securing 11 silver medals across kata and kumite categories. The event, hosted in Algeria with broad participation from Arab national teams, showcased the rising strength of Libyan karate on the regional stage.

In the individual kata competitions, Libya demonstrated technical precision and consistency. Zakaria Dheab captured silver in the Juniors (B) category, Ali Al-Hantoush earned silver in the Youth division, while Zakaria Al-Hafyan added another medal in the Children and Cadets class. Their performances were closely contested, with minimal point differences separating them from the gold medallists.

The Libyan delegation also excelled in individual kumite, where a series of determined displays resulted in multiple podium finishes. Ali Fadl earned silver in the Children +40 kg category, followed by Mohamed Rajab in Juniors B +65 kg. Mohamed Al-Ghadi impressed in the Youth -65 kg division, while Al-Sadiq Al-Kurdassi secured silver in Juniors A +75 kg. Additional podium success came from Saleh Saleh in Juniors A -55 kg and Zakaria Al-Hafyan, who added a second medal in Children -40 kg, proving his versatility in both kata and kumite. Abdullah Al-Sharaa rounded off the individual achievements with a silver medal in the Masters open weight class.

Libya’s collective strength was further highlighted in the Juniors (A) team kata event. The team, composed of Al-Sadiq Al-Kurdassi, Rami Marisa, and Salem Al-Tabini, delivered a cohesive and disciplined routine that earned them a silver medal and added to the country’s growing tally.

The Libyan delegation’s performance underscores the progress of karate development programmes and reinforces Libya’s ability to compete strongly across multiple age groups and disciplines in regional competitions.
