Head of Libya’s High State Council Meets Spanish FM

Khaled Al-Mishri, met on Monday with the Spanish Foreign Minister, Arancha González Laya, in Tripoli.

The meeting was held in presence of the First Deputy Mohamed Baqi, the Second Deputy Safwan Al-Masuri, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Siala. They discussed developments surrounding the political and military situation of the country, as well as the repercussions and effects of the battles with the Libyan National Army (LNA).

According to the Council’s media office, the meeting also dealt with the proposed ceasefire initiatives, and opportunities for resuming political dialogue. It also discussed how to create a suitable environment for the ceasefire’s success, and Spain’s role in pushing the political process forward.
