The Ministry of Interior under the East Libya government has marked the graduation of the first intake of recruits from the Illegal Migration Control Agency, the Coast Guard Security Department and the Diplomatic Security service in the city of Benghazi.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the General Administration of Central Support and attended by senior security and military officials, alongside families of the graduates. The event was led by Interior Minister Essam Abu Zariba, reflecting the growing focus of the Benghazi-based authorities on strengthening internal security institutions.
In his address, the minister welcomed attendees and expressed pride in the graduation of the first cohort, describing it as an important step in enhancing the professionalism and readiness of the Ministry of Interior’s personnel. He stressed that the new graduates are expected to uphold discipline, national values and professional integrity while performing their duties amid increasing security challenges.
Abu Zariba said the graduation formed part of a wider ministry strategy aimed at raising operational efficiency and developing human resources across key security sectors, including migration control, maritime security and diplomatic protection. He urged the graduates to shoulder their responsibilities with dedication and commitment in service of national security.
The minister also praised the continued support provided to the ministry by the East Libya government leadership, highlighting the role of Deputy Commander-in-Chief Saddam Khalifa Haftar in upgrading facilities, supplying equipment and supporting specialised training programmes. He noted that these efforts have significantly improved institutional preparedness.
Senior officials attending the event described the graduating class as a qualitative addition to the security sector, injecting new capabilities into frontline institutions. The ceremony concluded with a coordinated military parade by the graduates, demonstrating the discipline and skills acquired during their training period.
The Benghazi-based Interior Ministry said the graduation underlines the East Libya government’s commitment to building capable security institutions and reinforcing stability through structured training and professional development.
