Saudi authorities have approved special transit lists for Libyan travelers seeking to return home after the suspension of flights at Bahrain International Airport, according to an announcement by the Libyan Embassy in Bahrain.
The embassy said the decision allows Libyan passengers stranded in Bahrain to pass through Saudi Arabia as part of arrangements aimed at facilitating their safe return to Libya. The move follows the unexpected closure of Bahrain’s airport to air traffic, which left a number of Libyan citizens unable to continue their journeys.
Under the agreement reached with Saudi authorities, Libyan travelers will be permitted to remain in Saudi Arabia for up to four days while completing the necessary procedures for their return to Libya. The temporary transit window is intended to give passengers enough time to arrange onward travel and finalize administrative requirements linked to their departure.
Diplomatic coordination between the Libyan Embassy and relevant Saudi authorities helped secure the approval of the transit lists, ensuring that stranded citizens would have a viable route to return home. The embassy confirmed that the arrangement applies specifically to travelers whose names were included on the approved lists submitted to Saudi officials.
The measure is expected to ease the difficulties faced by Libyan passengers affected by the closure of Bahrain’s airport, which disrupted travel plans and created uncertainty for many travelers waiting to return to Libya. By allowing temporary entry and transit through Saudi territory, the agreement provides an alternative pathway for passengers to complete their journeys.

They also urged Libyan travelers to follow the instructions provided by the embassy and adhere to the four-day transit limit granted by Saudi authorities.
