The Arabian Gulf Oil Company held high-level discussions with SLB in London to strengthen cooperation and increase oil production in Libya, as the country continues its efforts to expand output and improve efficiency across its energy sector.

The meeting took place at SLB headquarters on the sidelines of the African Energy Summit and brought together officials from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, the National Oil Corporation, and energy sector experts. Discussions focused on expanding integrated operations and improving technical coordination in Libyan oil fields.

During the meeting, SLB presented an overview of its activities in Libya and highlighted progress achieved in raising production levels at several fields operated by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company. Representatives said the results were driven by close cooperation between technical teams and the application of integrated operational systems designed to improve field performance and efficiency.

Chairman of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, Mohamed Ben Shatwan, praised the performance of the joint teams and stressed the importance of expanding the integrated operations model to additional sectors within Libya’s oil industry. He emphasized that partnerships with international energy companies remain essential for supporting production growth and strengthening technical expertise.

Representatives from the National Oil Corporation also backed efforts to broaden the initiative, suggesting that successful operational experiences be shared with other Libyan oil companies through a joint technical workshop. Officials believe that exchanging expertise and operational strategies could help improve productivity and efficiency throughout the sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, SLB presented an award to Ben Shatwan in recognition of his role in supporting cooperation and advancing joint operational efforts.
