Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Al-Hwaij, said the Libyan authorities will deal firmly with any attempts to infiltrate the country or violate laws governing border crossings and national sovereignty.

In a statement posted on X, Al-Hwaij stressed that protecting Libya’s borders and state institutions remains a top national priority that cannot be compromised under any circumstances.

He said the relevant Libyan authorities are fully committed to respecting judicial independence, legal procedures, and human rights while also taking all necessary measures to preserve national security and stability.

Al-Hwaij added that Libya would prevent any actions that could undermine the country’s sovereignty or violate the laws regulating border crossings and movement between neighbouring states.

The foreign minister also reaffirmed Libya’s full support for the Palestinian cause and renewed the country’s solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing humanitarian and political crisis facing Gaza and the occupied territories.

He confirmed that the Libyan government is prepared to receive humanitarian aid linked to the “Soumoud 2” convoy through the Libyan Red Crescent, in accordance with approved humanitarian and legal frameworks.

At the same time, Al-Hwaij stated that Libyan authorities will not allow the passage of any non-Libyan or non-Egyptian nationals through the land crossings between Libya and Egypt.

He explained that the measure is based on existing laws and regulations governing movement across the two countries’ shared borders, describing it as a sovereign and organisational decision that does not allow exceptions.

Al-Hwaij said Libya remains committed to regulating entry and exit through official border points in a way that protects national security and prevents any unlawful exploitation of the frontier areas.

He also confirmed that coordination and cooperation between the Libyan and Egyptian authorities will continue to ensure border security and orderly movement across official crossings.

The minister added that Libya will continue supporting humanitarian and relief efforts directed toward the Palestinian people while simultaneously enforcing border regulations and maintaining public security and state sovereignty.
