The Sirte Municipal Council has praised the role of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, in supporting development efforts and strengthening economic and social stability across Libya.

In an official statement, the council said support provided to municipalities has helped improve their ability to address challenges, enhance public services, and carry out local development projects more effectively.

The council expressed its appreciation for Haftar’s backing of municipal work, saying such support has contributed to easing difficulties facing local administrations and improving their capacity to respond to citizens’ needs.

It added that continued coordination between relevant authorities is essential to improving municipal performance and advancing sustainable local development.

The Sirte Municipal Council also renewed its support for national efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive development, strengthening cooperation among state institutions, and promoting institutional integration.

The statement said unifying Libyan state institutions remains a central requirement for improving governance, supporting development, and meeting citizens’ aspirations for greater stability and prosperity.
