Libya’s National Oil Corporation has reviewed advanced digital solutions for exploration and production operations during a technical meeting with a delegation from Petroleum Experts, known as PETEX, at its headquarters in Tripoli.
The meeting took place at the NOC’s Sarir Hall and focused on the latest software technologies designed to support the oil and gas sector, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen technical decision-making across exploration and production activities.
According to the National Oil Corporation, the visit came as part of its efforts to keep pace with modern digital technologies that can support upstream operations and improve the management of oil assets. The talks also examined how advanced digital tools can help raise performance levels, improve field planning, and support more accurate technical assessments.
During the meeting, the PETEX delegation delivered a technical presentation on the company’s latest digital solutions for exploration and production. The presentation covered integrated technologies that connect reservoir data, well information, and production networks, allowing operators to gain a clearer view of field performance and improve operational outcomes.
The delegation also introduced the PETEX IPM software suite, which is widely used in the global oil and gas industry to support technical and operational studies. The suite is designed to help specialists analyse complex field data, model production systems, and assess future performance under different operating scenarios.
Representatives from the NOC’s relevant technical departments discussed possible ways to benefit from these technologies in current and future projects. The discussions focused on applying advanced digital solutions to improve operating efficiency, strengthen coordination between technical disciplines, and develop better methods for data analysis and production forecasting.
The National Oil Corporation said the use of modern digital systems could support its broader efforts to improve the performance of Libya’s oil sector. These tools may also contribute to better asset management, more efficient production planning, and stronger economic value from oilfields.
The meeting comes as Libya continues to look for ways to modernise its energy infrastructure and increase the efficiency of its oil operations. Digital transformation has become increasingly important for oil and gas companies worldwide, particularly in areas such as reservoir management, well performance monitoring, and production optimisation.
By reviewing PETEX technologies, the NOC is seeking to assess practical solutions that can help improve technical workflows and support more informed decisions in exploration and production. The discussions also reflect the corporation’s interest in adopting advanced software systems that can connect data across different stages of field development and operation.
The talks between the National Oil Corporation and PETEX form part of wider efforts to strengthen the technical capacity of Libya’s oil industry and make better use of digital tools in managing the country’s energy resources.
