Libya’s Criminal Investigation Department in Derna has seized a quantity of narcotic substances during a raid on a house in the Bab Tobruk area of Derna, after receiving information that a person was allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

The department said investigation officers began collecting information and verifying the report. After completing the required legal procedures and referring the case file to the Public Prosecution, permission was granted to raid the property.

The raid was carried out at around 2:00 a.m. During the operation, the security force faced resistance from the suspect’s father. Another person was also detained after being found in an intoxicated state.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of hashish, along with tablets identified as Petrel and Tramadol. The seized items were documented and secured in accordance with the legal procedures in force.

The Criminal Investigation Department said the operation was part of ongoing security efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect public safety in Derna.
