Libya participated in the 165th ordinary session of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, held in the Jordan, as Arab foreign ministers and senior officials gathered to discuss key political, security and economic issues facing the region.
The Libyan delegation was headed by Taher Salem Al-Baour, acting head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, alongside Abdel Motaleb Idris Thabet, Libya’s permanent representative to the Arab League and acting ambassador to Egypt.
Before the official session opened, the Libyan delegation participated in a closed consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers. The gathering was dedicated to exchanging views on several issues on the agenda and discussing ways to strengthen joint Arab action and coordination in response to regional challenges.
The ministerial session later focused on a range of issues related to enhancing Arab solidarity, supporting stability and development efforts across the region and intensifying political coordination among Arab states to serve common interests and meet the aspirations of Arab peoples.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened regional tensions and growing international concern over security and economic developments in the Middle East and North Africa.
Libya said its participation reflects its commitment to maintaining an active role within the framework of joint Arab action and enhancing consultation and coordination with fellow Arab countries on issues of priority at both the regional and international levels.
The Arab League ministerial meetings serve as a key platform for coordinating Arab positions on regional crises and promoting collective approaches to political, economic and security challenges affecting member states.
