A fire broke out on Friday evening on the upper floor of the Internal Security Agency headquarters on Al-Sikka Road in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, prompting an emergency response in the surrounding area.

According to local sources, firefighting teams and relevant authorities rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Crews immediately began efforts to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

The incident caused a state of alert around the area, as emergency teams worked to contain the blaze and secure the site. No official statement has yet been issued on the cause of the fire.

Authorities have also not released precise details about the scale of material damage or whether any injuries were reported among employees or personnel inside the headquarters at the time of the incident.

Field efforts are still ongoing to fully control the situation, while the circumstances surrounding the fire remain unclear pending an official update from the relevant bodies.

The Internal Security Agency headquarters is located on one of Tripoli’s main roads, making the incident a matter of public concern, particularly amid the lack of immediate official clarification about the cause or impact of the blaze.
