Libya’s Anti-Illegal Immigration Department in Al-Bayda has deported 41 undocumented migrants of different nationalities as part of ongoing efforts to enforce the law and strengthen security.
The operation was carried out under the instructions of the Head of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Department, Major General Salah Mahmoud Al-Khufeifi, and under the supervision of the Director of the Al-Bayda branch, Colonel Reda Hourish.
The branch said the deportation was conducted as part of an approved security plan that includes intensified patrols, faster processing of deportation cases, and stronger action against irregular migration.
The 41 migrants were nationals of Sudan, Chad, and Egypt. The group included individuals who had been issued deportation orders by the Public Prosecution, people diagnosed with hepatitis, and others subject to security restrictions.
Authorities said all required legal and medical procedures were completed before the deportation process began.
The operation was carried out in two stages. Egyptian nationals were deported through the Emsaed land border crossing, while Sudanese and Chadian migrants were transferred to the Ganfouda Detention and Deportation Centre to complete arrangements for their return to their home countries.
The Al-Bayda branch said the operation forms part of wider national efforts to combat irregular migration, enforce the rule of law, and protect Libya’s security and stability.
Libyan authorities regularly carry out deportation operations involving undocumented migrants detained in different parts of the country. Many migrants enter Libya in an attempt to reach Europe through the Mediterranean, while others remain in the country without valid residency documents.
