On Monday, Misrata International Airport announced the resumption of flights to Benghazi after a five-year hiatus.

The airport administration said in a statement that Afriqiyah Airlines will also operate a flight to Sfax, Tunisia on 7 February, and another on 11 February.

The airport administration also announced that flights would soon operate to Sebha in southern Libya, and Alexandria, Egypt.

Flights resumed between Tripoli and Benghazi, after the warring parties signed a UN-brokered ceasefire agreement in October.
