A high-level Libyan trade delegation visited Cairo and held a meeting with the Head of the Companies and Travel Division of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Saad, to the discuss the reconstruction of the war-torn country. The two sides discussed the possibilities of sending Egyptian manpower to work on rebuilding Libya.

Saad referred to Egypt’s efforts to establish peace in Libya. He explained that Cairo’s efforts had succeeded in calming the situation in Libya after Egypt hosted the Libyan-Libyan consultations “that paved the way for reconciliation.”

“Egypt seeks to help the Libyan brothers in rebuilding their country and providing them with expertise and skilled manpower,” he added, noting that this cooperation would provide hundreds of thousands of job opportunities for Egyptians.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, Prime Minister of the Interim Libyan government, and affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting Libya. El-Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s readiness to provide assistance to Libya, “in a way that contributes to putting Libya on the right track.”
