On Saturday, the Head of the Libyan Media Corporation (LMC), Mohamed Baio, said that the elections are not a view that is open to debate, but rather a national choice and there is no dispute over it.

“The elections are not a view that is open to debate, and it is not a negotiation process that tolerates concessions, but rather a national choice in which we meet and there is no disagreement over it,” Baio said in a post on his Facebook account.

He added, “oh, you clumsy and deceitful ones, keep your opinions to yourselves, and let the Libyans regain their legitimacy and their homeland.”

On Friday, a group of Libyans announced the inauguration of the “Presidential Election Movement” to support the electoral process to move towards presidential and parliamentary elections on December 24th, 2021.

In a first statement, the movement called on the legislative bodies to include the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in the constitutional declaration. The outcomes of the LPDF stipulated that presidential and parliamentary elections should be held at the end of 2021.
