Libyan Prime Minister Offers Condolences to Egypt After Deadly Train Accident

Libyan Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba offered his condolences to Egypt over the Sohag train accident that resulted in the deaths of dozens of victims.

“We express our condolences to the Egyptian people and families of the victims of the Sohag train accident,” Dbaiba tweeted on Friday. “A sad day for all of us. Libya stands beside the Egyptian people and leadership in this great calamity,” he added.

The collision of two trains took place in Sohag in western Egypt, resulting in the death of 32 people, and 91 injuries.

Egyptian Health Minister Hala Zayed formed a crisis and emergency room in Sohag to follow up on the incident. As well as providing medical supplies and medical teams to provide the necessary support for the injured.

Spokesman for Egypt’s Ministry of Health, Khaled Mujahid, said 36 ambulances were dispatched to the evacuation hospitals.
