Sisi and Macron discuss Libya in Phone Call

On Sunday, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt held a phone call with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, to discuss regional issues of mutual concern. The discussion included latest developments in Libya.

According to a statement released by the Egyptian Presidency, the two leaders also discussed bilateral options to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

France has reported a total of more than 89,000 cases and over 7,500 deaths.

Sisi and Macron discussed options for cooperation across the African continent, based on the outcome of a mini-summit that was held on April 3rd and which brought together via videoconferencing African leaders including Sisi, as well as Macron.

On April 4, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that the number of Covid-19 cases in Egypt had reached 1070, including 241 recovered and 71 deaths.
