On Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) and Libyan officials reached an agreement to develop the Libyan healthcare system, especially in emergency services, rural hospitals, and child healthcare.

The Libyan Ministry of Health said in a statement that Minister Ali Zanati, and Elizabeth Hoff, the WHO representative in Libya, also discussed providing the necessary medical supplies for COVID-19 isolation centers in Libya.

The statement added that WHO also agreed to provide a six month supply of HIV medicines to Libya

On Saturday, Libya began a strict three-day total lockdown to fight the rise in COVID-19 cases. This was replaced by a 12-hour lockdown (6 PM- 6 AM).
