The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, again denied the participation of Sudanese forces in the ongoing fighting in or around Tripoli, and elsewhere in the country. This was previously denied in statements issued by the Sudanese Armed Forces.

The Ministry referenced a UN report published in January, confirming there was no evidence of Sudanese forces taking part in the hostilities in Libya.

It reiterated its support for a political solution to the conflict. It called on its “brothers in Libya to stop the military escalation, fighting and to end the human suffering of the Libyan people, and to mobilize efforts and resources to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, that represents the greatest threat facing humanity at the present time”.
