On Wednesday, Parliament Speaker, Aqeela Saleh, held a meeting with the heads of the permanent parliamentary committees, to discuss the latest developments in the country.

The Parliament Speaker recently penned a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and the P5 Ambassadors, regarding what he described as “blatant Turkish interference” in Libya’s internal affairs.

Saleh claimed that Libya is being exposed to “brutal Turkish aggression in which they are attacking Libyan cities from the sea and air, in addition to Turkish interference in internal affairs by importing weapons and fighters”. He stressed that this interference, was a clear violation of international law and called it a “complete blatant disregard” of the Berlin Conference agreements.

On Tuesday, Saleh ordered the appointment of Idris Al-Ahimar, as the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Libya.
