On Sunday, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that no new cases of COVID-19 had been registered in the last 24 hours, confirming that the latest batch of 47 suspected samples had all tested negative for the virus.

The NCDC announced on Saturday the recovery of four cases, bringing the total number of recoveries to 22, with 41 active cases under medical observation.

A single COVID-19 related death was recorded on Thursday, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to five.

Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel with the aim of curbing the spread of the Covid-19.

Billions of dollars have been pledged in economic stimulus packages to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
