Misrata’s Municipality said that it has not been receiving support from the Government of National Accord (GNA) to clean the municipality. It noted that it has distributed garbage bins to various points within the city through its own efforts and in coordination with a cleaning services company.

The municipality said that “As part of the coordination that is taking place between the Misrata municipality and the public cleaning services company, a pilot program was launched to distribute garbage bins within the municipality.”

“We are in the process of supporting the company with 100 additional bins during the next few days to enhance its capacity in the city center,” the municipality added. “This support comes directly from the municipality, in the absence of the necessary support from the Ministry of Local Government.”
