No Casualties Reported Among Italian Soldiers in Misrata

Italian military sources denied claims that Italian forces stationed at the field hospital in the city of Misrata had suffered casualties.

The Italian field hospital in Misrata is currently being used to quarantine repatriated citizens from abroad.

It is not the first time that the Italian military has had to deny claims that its soldiers had been injured in Misrata, especially after attacks against military targets in the city.

The past twenty-four hours have witnessed intense air strikes in both Tripoli and Misrata by the Libyan National Army (LNA).

Misrata Air College and military base were struck, as well as the Abu Salim neighborhood in Tripoli.

These attacks followed attempted assaults by forces aligned to the Government of National Accord (GNA) on Al-Watiya Airbase, which is currently controlled by the LNA.

Last month, forces loyal to the GNA attempted to launch an attack on Tarhuna, a major stronghold for the LNA in western Libya. Despite being backed by Turkish drones and heavy artillery, the attack did not dislodge the LNA from its positions.
