On Saturday, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported one new COVID-19 case in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Libya to 65.

In its latest statement, the NCDC added that the last batch of 56 suspected cases had all tested negative for the virus.

Libya currently has 33 active cases under medical observation, 28 successful recoveries and 3 deaths.

Earlier today, head of Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, announced that that the centre will be conducting a community-based epidemiological survey on Sunday to estimate the prevalence of the COVID-19 infection in the country.

Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel with the aim of curbing the spread of the virus.

Trillions of dollars have been pledged in economic stimulus packages around the world to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
