James Cleverly, the UK’s Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa, said that Britain is concerned about the escalation of fighting in Libya and the impact this has on the lives of civilians.

In a phone call with the Government of National Accord’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Taher Siala, Cleverly called on all parties to urgently participate in ceasefire negotiations.

According to the British Foreign Ministry, Cleverly greeted the Libyan people on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, hoping it would be an opportunity to live in peace.
