Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Ageela Saleh participated in the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments in Cairo, joining parliamentary leaders and legislative representatives from across the Arab world to discuss regional challenges and strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The conference is attended by speakers of national parliaments and heads of parliamentary delegations to examine a broad agenda focused on political, economic, and security developments affecting the region. Participants also reviewed ways to improve coordination among Arab legislative institutions and enhance their role in addressing common challenges.
A central theme of the meeting was strengthening joint parliamentary action through closer cooperation and more effective coordination on regional and international issues. Delegates discussed expanding parliamentary diplomacy, promoting dialogue among legislative bodies, and developing unified positions on matters of shared interest.
The conference also explored opportunities to increase the exchange of legislative expertise and best practices in lawmaking, oversight, and institutional governance. Participants stressed that stronger communication between Arab parliaments is essential to support stability, encourage development, and improve regional cooperation.
Participants are expected to conclude the conference by adopting a series of recommendations aimed at expanding cooperation between Arab legislatures, improving parliamentary coordination, and reinforcing the role of legislative institutions in addressing regional priorities.
