A tanker carrying diesel fuel has arrived at Tobruk Port to support electricity generation and improve the stability of Libya’s power grid.
Specialist teams began pumping the fuel into the storage tanks of the Tobruk Power Station immediately after the vessel reached the port.
The fuel supply will allow the station’s remaining generation units to return to service and operate at their full production capacity.
The delivery is expected to increase the amount of electricity supplied to the national grid and reduce pressure on the power network, particularly in Tobruk and other areas of eastern Libya.
Power stations in Libya depend on regular fuel deliveries to maintain electricity production and prevent interruptions caused by shortages. The rapid transfer of the diesel from the tanker to the station’s storage facilities is intended to accelerate the restart of all available generating units.
Once the pumping process is completed, technical teams are expected to prepare the units for operation according to the station’s production requirements and the needs of the national electricity network.
The arrival of the tanker comes as electricity authorities continue efforts to maintain power generation and secure sufficient fuel supplies for stations across the country.
