On Tuesday, The Security Directorate in Sabha announced that it will impose curfew, from 12pm to 9 a.m. in the city, for two weeks starting today, Wednesday May 27.

In a statement, the directorate explained that the decision comes after the registration of two coronavirus cases in the city.
The Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported two new COVID-19 cases in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Libya to 77.

In its latest statement, the NCDC added that the last batch of 64 suspected cases had all tested negative for the virus.

Libya currently has 32 active cases under medical observation, 40 successful recoveries and 3 deaths.

Several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel with the aim of curbing the spread of the virus. Trillions of dollars have been pledged in economic stimulus packages around the world to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.
