The Prime Minister of Libya’s eastern based Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, issued orders on Thursday to enforce a travel ban between cities, during a meeting with Interior Minister Ibrahim Bouchnaf in Benghazi.

Al-Thinni also discussed with Bouchnaf the current situation in the North African country, addressing the need to reconsider curfew hours in a way that ensures minimal disruption or risks of further contagion.

These measures follow the discovery of twenty new Coronavirus cases in Libya over the past 24 hours, the largest daily increase since the beginning of the global pandemic.
