Turkish Ambassador Affirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Libya

The Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Kenan Yilmaz, expressed Turkey’s dedication to enhancing its historic ties with Libya after Turkish Airlines operated its inaugural flight between Istanbul and Tripoli, marking a milestone in the aviation sector and signaling progress in diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.

Ambassador Yilmaz, speaking at a press conference at Mitiga Airport, emphasized the event’s significance as a historic turning point in bilateral relations. He highlighted the strong historical connections that have long united Turkey and Libya, stating, “This development represents a historic turning point in the bilateral relations between our countries.”The return of Turkish Airlines not only strengthens civil aviation standards but also underscores both nations’ commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors. Ambassador Yilmaz reiterated Turkey’s support for Libya on the international stage.

Additionally, plans were announced for Turkish Airlines to extend its flight services to other Libyan cities, including Misrata and Benghazi, in the near future. This expansion is expected to exoand travel, business exchanges, and tourism between the two countries.

The resumption of Turkish Airlines flights to Libya symbolizes more than just an aviation milestone; as it sends a clear signal that Libya is recovering from conflict and is on the path towards further stability and development.
