Libyan Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) discussed cooperation with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit. They addressed supporting local and international efforts to hold parliamentary and presidential elections based on agreed laws, activating the League’s role in the Libyan political file, and increasing cooperation between the League and Libya.
Aboul Gheit received Dbaiba in Cairo on Wednesday, where they held a bilateral meeting to discuss several issues focusing on supporting local and international efforts to hold parliamentary and presidential elections based on agreed laws, activating the League’s role in the Libyan political file, and increasing cooperation between the League and Libya.
The meeting reviewed the participation of government institutions in the activities and events of the Arab League and the League’s role in supporting and stabilizing Libya in various aspects.
Dbaiba and Aboul Gheit also discussed unifying the Arab position to stop Israeli violations in Gaza and supporting the Palestinian people by providing necessary aid.
After the meeting, the Libyan PM toured the League’s corridors, where he received briefings from its Secretary-General about its components and history.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.
