The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund has officially inaugurated the Nasiriyah Residential Buildings Project in the southern city of Sebha after completing a comprehensive redevelopment programme, delivering 300 renovated housing units as part of wider efforts to improve urban infrastructure and living standards across the country.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by community leaders, local residents, and government officials, marking the completion of one of the city’s major residential rehabilitation projects.

The project involved the renovation and upgrading of 30 residential buildings containing a total of 300 housing units. Work included extensive interior and exterior refurbishment, roof restoration, moisture treatment, and the modernisation of electrical and plumbing systems. Construction teams also carried out metalwork, finishing works, and structural improvements in line with modern engineering and technical standards.

Beyond the residential buildings, the project included the development of integrated infrastructure designed to create a safer and more sustainable living environment. The upgraded facilities feature new internal road networks, water supply systems, sewage infrastructure, parking areas, modern street lighting, landscaped green spaces, public gardens, and recreational facilities.

Officials said the redevelopment is part of ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting urban development, improving housing quality, and providing residents with modern, secure, and fully serviced neighbourhoods.

The completion of the Nasiriyah Residential Buildings Project reflects continuing efforts by the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund to restore and modernise residential infrastructure in cities across the country while enhancing public services and improving the quality of life for local communities.
